Why is the price in the app different from the pump?
Gas prices come from what each station reports to the Comisión Nacional de Energía (CNE). A station may change its price before updating its report, and the CNE publishes the data about once a day. Carga shows when each price was last updated. If you notice a big difference or an irregularity, you can report it to Profeco.
Why isn't Carga available in the EU?
In this first version, Carga is not yet available in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. If you use it there while traveling, no ads are shown. More details in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Your favorites, cars, parking spots and price history are only on your device. To delete them, delete the app (touch and hold its icon, Remove App). We hold no copy because we have no server or accounts. To remove permissions without deleting the app, go to Settings, Carga.
How does Carga use my location?
Only while you use it and with your permission. Location is used to find nearby stations, work out distances and times, and show widgets and complications with what is nearest. To fetch stations, the app sends coordinates to Apple Maps, Open Charge Map and OpenStreetMap Overpass. If you do not want to share your location, you can turn it off in Settings and search by moving the map. The Privacy Policy has the full table.
What is the camera used for?
To scan your car's VIN, read prices from a gas station sign and identify the charging plug. Images are processed on your device and are not sent to any server. If you scan or type a VIN, the number is looked up in the NHTSA API (United States) to identify your car.
How does parking detection work?
It is optional. If you turn it on in the Me tab and grant the Motion & Fitness permission, Carga detects when you stop driving and saves the spot, all on your device. You can stop it any time by revoking the permission in Settings, Carga.
A charger or gas station is wrong or missing
Charger data comes from Open Charge Map, OpenStreetMap and Apple Maps, not from us. You can fix it on Open Charge Map or OpenStreetMap, and the change will reach the app when those services publish it.
Does Carga cost anything?
The app is free and is supported by non-intrusive ads outside Europe.
